Lynn A. Uber, PharmD, was born and raised in the small town of Endicott, New York. She obtained a BS in Pharmacy degree from the State University of NY at Buffalo School of Pharmacy, then obtained a Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the MUSC College of Pharmacy in 1988. In 1993, Uber became one of the first Clinical Pharmacy Specialists at MUSC, working with the Adult and Pediatric Abdominal Transplant Program. Uber is considered the "PharmD Forefather" of the MUSC Abdominal Transplant Program due to the development and implementation of many clinical improvement programs prior to and after becoming their Clinical Pharmacy Specialist. Some of these programs include a Clinical Pharmacy Service for inpatient transplants in 1991 and outpatient transplants in 1994; the Transplant Outpatient Unit in 1995; a Transplant Ambulatory Care Service in 1998; and a Medication Assistance Program for an IV Infusion Clinic in 2001.

Her most recent position at MUSC was as Coordinator of AmCare Clinical Pharmacy Services from 2012-2018.

During her 30 years at MUSC, Uber mentored pharmacy students, medical students, residents, and fellows and also gave over 100 presentations on therapeutic subjects such as gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, dermatology, oncology, neurology, renal and electrolyte, nutrition, and immunology therapeutics. As a part of her recent educational role, she served as a Grand Rounds Advisor to pharmacy students and as a Residency Preceptor in the areas of medicine, critical care, ambulatory care, and pharmacy practice and management.

During her research pursuits in 1995, Uber received a $20,000 grant from Ortho Biotech Inc. and a $10,000 grant from Sandoz for investigating OKT3 induction therapy in renal transplant patients and Neoral dosage requirements in renal transplant patients, respectively. From 1990-2018, Uber completed 47 research projects, received ten grants, and published 22 articles and nine abstracts. Uber was awarded the MUSC Clinical Services Excellence Award for seven consecutive years (1998-2004), the Novation Best Practice Award in 2001, the Letter of Commendation from the MUSC Medical Executive Committee in 2002, and most recently received the IPPE Hospital Preceptor of the Year Award in 2016.

Since her retirement in 2018, Uber has remained an active member of the Holy Ascension Orthodox Church in Mt. Pleasant, SC. She is married to Dr. Walt Uber and has four beautiful Godchildren.
