Margaret Blair Bobo, PhD, was an honor graduate of the Class of 1958 and became the first hospital pharmacy resident at MUSC that same year. After completing her residency, she practiced hospital and community pharmacy in the Charleston area. Bobo was a member of the faculty of the College of Pharmacy for 17 years before pursuing a second career as a successful businesswoman and women's clothing shop owner here in Charleston. As a faculty member, she served as the College of Pharmacy faculty advisor to the Rho Chi and Lambda Kappa Sigma organizations and was a recipient of the Teacher of the Year Award. Bobo is a past president of the Charleston County Pharmacy Association, now called the Lowcountry Pharmacy Association, and served on the governing board of the MUSC Health Sciences Foundation, which manages the Foundation's funds and properties. In addition to her personal alumni participation and stewardship over the years, she has provided leadership in support of the College of Pharmacy, the University, and of current MUSC students. Bobo currently serves as the President of the Greater Lowcountry Republican Club with goals to encourage voter registration and conservative government. The Bobos have three children and five grandchildren.
